1937 Hunslet
Ex-Ida Bay Tramway. This loco originally featured a ‘steam-tram’ style overall roof. No.6 had been loaned in the late 1990′s to its original railway, the Lune River Railway, which now operates as a tourist line. When this photo was taken in May 2003 it was under overhaul at the Don River Railway. We have finalised a lease with the Don River Railway which has allowed us to locate this 1937 0 – 4 – 2 Hunslet 2′ gauge steam locomotive at Sheffield. The intention is to run it as our second steam locomotive as soon as we can finish the restoration – dependent on money and manpower!
