2011 TASMANIAN COMMUNITY ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS – STEAMFEST WINS THE COMMUNITY EVENT OF THE YEAR AWARD!

At the 2011 Tasmanian Community Achievements Award Presentation Night held at the Grand Chancellor in Launceston in November, Rod Stewart from Super Prime presents Chris Martin with the Tasmanian Event of the Year Award on behalf of SteamFest.

At the end of July the winners of the inauguaral 2010 Cradle Coast Regional Tourism Awards were announced. A full list of the winners can be found here
2010: SteamFest Wins for Best Festival!

At the inaugural 2010 Cradle Coast Regional Tourism Awards presentation on 29th July, SteamFest was declared the winner for the best Festival with the nomination prepared by Kris Spencer.
Chris Martin is seen receiving the award on behalf of all the volunteers without whom SteamFest would not be such a successful annual event.
2009: ATHRA* TOURISM PROMOTION AWARD
Chris Martin receives the ATHRA tourism promotion award from Queensland’s Minister for Transport and member for Ipswich MP Rachel Nolan.

2008: KENTISH AUSTRALIA DAY COMMUNITY EVENT AWARD and CULTURAL AND HERITAGE AWARD

At the 2008 Australia Day Breakfast held in the Sheffield Town Hall, the Australia Day Community Event Award went to Redwater Creek Steam & Heritage Society’s SteamFest 2007. The 13th SteamFest had approximately 8,000 people through the gates during the 3 day event. It has been estimated that over the 13 years SteamFest has generated a quarter of a million dollars for the Kentish economy. Held over 3 days on the March long weekend, it is one of the busiest weeks in the Kentish Calendar. The Society was also awarded the 2008 Culltural and Heritage Award.
